Keithley family letters, 1862, 1864.

This collection consists of two signed letters: one from Jesse Keithely to his wife on October 27, 1862, and the other from Jesse's son, J.W. Keithley to his mother on February 5, 1864. The letters are mainly of family talk, updates on combat and general living conditions of the soldiers.

Jesse Keithley was born in 1806 in Iowa, and later moved to Indiana. On 16 August 1825, he married Polly Donica in Lawrence County, Indiana. The couple had eight children.
